Accounting Manager
Accounting Manager
York Excavating Company (YEC) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial organization, tracking job costs, and helping ensure the business runs efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Track job costs, project budgets, and profitability.
- Review and process vendor invoices, subcontractor billing, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll review, cash flow management, and forecasting.
- Support audits, compliance, and internal controls.
- Work closely with leadership and project managers to provide financial reporting and insight.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Previous accounting experience required; construction or excavation industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of job costing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

About Us
We are a growing site development construction company based in York, PA, dedicated to operational excellence, safety, and building strong teams. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven HR Generalist to support and strengthen our Human Resources function.
Position Overview
The HR Generalist will work under the direction of the HR Manager to support daily HR operations while helping improve processes and systems. This role requires strong organizational skills, compliance awareness, and the ability to support both office and field personnel in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes
- Process employee background checks and manage clearances required for prevailing wage and public works projects
- Maintain and optimize HRIS data within BambooHR
- Assist with payroll coordination and reporting through Deltek
- Support compliance efforts related to prevailing wage projects, including documentation tracking and record maintenance
- Assist with 401(k) plan administration, including preparation and documentation support for annual 401(k) audits
- Help develop, document, and improve HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR reporting
- Support benefits administration and open enrollment processes
- Partner with field leadership and office staff to resolve employee matters
- Assist with performance management and employee engagement initiatives
- Generate HR metrics and reporting to support leadership decision-making
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience
- Experience in construction or a field-based workforce preferred
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems; BambooHR experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Deltek payroll or project-based accounting systems preferred
- Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
